Transardenne Biking Heroes

The heroes of the “Transardennes Biking heroes”, were 27 teams, a hundred participants and many volunteers. We had the chance to participate in this great achievement and to live this experience to the end. Sharing intense moments for three days with people, all struck by fate in one way or another, is an unforgettable experience.

Three days of pedaling, sweat, tears of joy and suffering! The Wonschstär Foundation sponsored 3 teams, including a Wonschstär team composed of Nadège, suffering from ALS, Michelle Hudson, Josée Martin and Viviane Vermeer.

First day: Esneux-Malmedy 63 km, along the Ourthe, climbs and descents, breathtaking! Accommodation in a hostel in Butgenbach.

Second day: Butgenbach-Clervaux: 72 km, following the Vennbahn, the different RAVELS (Belgian cycle paths)! Accommodation at the Ecological Center in Hosingen.

Third day: Clervaux-Luxembourg: 60 km. Welcome to the north of Luxembourg, the wonderful country of wind turbines and castles.

A big THANK YOU to Michelle Hudson and Josée Martin, my teammates, who supported me during this great event! Although the communication with Nadège was not always easy and I always forgot to release the handbrake on our handbike, we were a team and everyone tried to help and support his teammate. Nadège reminded us what to do and with a lot of patience and good will, we managed this great adventure.

Thanks to everyone and particularly to B2Sport and Cap2Sport for all the organization and above all the technical and psychological support during all the difficult moments! Extraordinary moments of solidarity, mutual help, joy and excelling ourselves!

To repeat …
